Case studies / Traveronto

A TectSoft case study · Platform takeover

Akam wanted more ways to sell travel.

Traveronto brings flights, hotels and later eSIMs to travellers and travel businesses. Each supplier opens up more inventory; agencies and resellers open up more routes to customers.

The platform we inherited already had a booking framework and flight integrations. It also carried earlier code that made further change difficult.

Akam had worked with us before. He brought us into the platform he wanted to grow.

Chapter 1 · The pain

Add another supplier. Add another set of things that can go wrong.

Every supplier has its own search, pricing and booking behaviour. When each is wired in separately, even one customer booking can pass through several systems with different ideas of what happened.

For the founder, growth brings an uncomfortable question: what else will this change affect?

More inventory is only useful if the platform can handle selling it.

Chapter 2 · The stakes

The traveller wants a booking. Everyone in the chain needs it to be right.

A supplier, distributor, agent and reseller can all be involved in one sale. Prices and commissions need to line up, and the platform must tell a reservation apart from an issued ticket.

In the partner API, taking money from a wallet is not the same as receiving confirmation from the supplier. That gap needs a deliberate answer.

The team needed to own the path from search to confirmation.

Traveller
A booking they can rely on.
Partner
A balance that reflects what was actually confirmed.
Founder
A way to trace the transaction when something goes wrong.
Chapter 3 · The foundation

Give every supplier one shared way into the platform.

We built a common flight-search layer, added hotel integrations and reconciled their catalogues. The same hotel from two suppliers shows once, and first results appear while the rest arrive in the background.

We also separated booking from ticketing, added status checks and alerts, and recorded supplier calls so a disputed transaction could be followed.

The work turned isolated integrations into a foundation the team could extend.

  1. ConnectBring supplier searches into one shared result format.
  2. FollowTrack booking and ticket status separately.
  3. OwnLog calls and surface transactions that need attention.
Chapter 4 · The safeguard

A prepaid balance is not a confirmed booking.

We gave partners a way to book Traveronto inventory from their own websites. Their balance is checked before the supplier is called; the wallet is charged only after the supplier confirms.

A failed booking never costs the partner. If a confirmed booking cannot be charged, it is flagged for settlement.

Money and confirmation are connected on purpose.

  1. Check the balanceCan the partner cover this booking?
  2. Ask the supplierWait for a real confirmation.
  3. Charge and trackCharge after confirmation; flag anything that needs settling.
Chapter 5 · The platform grew

The foundation carried the next part of the business.

The engagement grew into more hotel suppliers, agency commissions, eSIMs and partner booking. We kept working on the live product, including an upgrade of its underlying framework.

By October 2026 we had been building Traveronto for more than two years. Akam has a team extending the platform and taking responsibility for how its parts work together.

The platform kept growing, with the same team behind it.

Your chapter

Your platform makes money. Every change feels like a risk.

If adding one more supplier means praying nothing else breaks. If nobody can tell you where a disputed booking went wrong. If the people who built it have moved on.

It can be made safe to grow.

We take over live platforms, learn how they really work and make them ready for what you want to sell next.

The proof

The story is for your heart. These dates are for your head.

  1. Partners book with a walletThe partner API goes from search to booking, with balance checks before the supplier call.
  2. Partner API goes liveResellers can search Traveronto hotels from their own websites.
  3. Another hotel supplierAmadeus hotels join the shared search.
  4. The framework upgradeThe codebase restructured onto standard Laravel, in batches, under a live business.
  5. eSIMsA new product line on the same checkout.
  6. Booking and ticketing splitA reservation and an issued ticket are tracked separately, with status checks and alerts.
  7. Faster hotel searchFirst results arrive at once; the rest of the city loads in the background.
  8. We take over the platformAn inherited Booking Core site with flight integrations and earlier custom code.

For developers: Laravel on Booking Core, a unified flight-search layer across suppliers, asynchronous hotel search with Redis-backed polling, cross-supplier hotel de-duplication, booking and ticketing split for non-LCC flights, a keyed partner API with per-key rate limits and commissions, and a wallet flow that debits only after supplier confirmation. Supplier figures shown on traveronto.com are the platform’s, not TectSoft outcomes.
